Sci Fi Frontiers is a collaborative website where people can write about the subjects of science fiction, fantasy, and horror (which we shorten to the all-inclusive term sci fi) as well as promote their projects in those genres. We are looking for contributors to post articles, fiction, artwork, films, web comics, etc. Our eventual goal is to share the revenue from advertising with our contributors once the site has established itself (more on that below). Also, we invite independent creators to promote their projects here such as books, films, web series, crowdfunding campaigns, web comics, etc. For now, promotion on the site is completely free, but that will change in the coming months (more on that below). Sci Fi Frontiers is a brand-new venture that we are hoping will grow quickly and find a broader audience as it introduces fresh new talent and ideas to the sci fi community.
We are looking for creators that will contribute articles, fiction, artwork, web comics, films, and other original material along that line focused on science fiction, fantasy, and/or horror. We would like to see a nice balance across the posts from our creators, but we are Wild Westing it to start and will let the creative process guide the site for now. Those of you that get in early will have a lot of influence on the long-term direction that Sci Fi Frontiers will take. Be original, be creative, be innovative, and have fun. Let’s build a site that we are proud of and that people will want to follow.
For now, all compensation will be deferred to a point that the site starts bringing in steady revenue. Affiliate links will be generating income and as traffic grows we will start charging promoters (always at a very reasonable rate) and expand our advertising. When we establish a regular flow of revenue, we will share that with the contributors based on the amount of traffic you are bringing to the site. There are no set rates at this point because we don’t know what the revenue levels will be, but we will start tracking the hits that you bring from the beginning and keep that as part of your profile.
You will retain full rights to your posts and you can pull down and/or re-post your work as you see fit. You can reprint works that you have at other sites, but in order to be considered a contributor and not a promoter, please post a full piece not just an excerpt with a link to another site that has the entire post. If you post an excerpt from your book or story, or one strip from your web comic, or one article from your blog you will be considered a promoter UNLESSS you regularly contribute other posts to the site. Regular contributors will be given a fair amount of leeway to promote their other works on this site.
We will be promoting Sci Fi Frontiers on the social networks on a regular basis and we ask that you do the same. The more that we get the word out, the quicker we will grow this community as we bring on more contributors, promoters, and readers.
You can request your contributor logon at this link. Include the username you would like to have, your contact email address, your name (which will be associated with your posts), website URL if you have one, and a brief description of the type of content you will be contributing. We will reply with your logon information within a couple of days. You will be creating your posts in a basic Word Press editing window (see links below for basics of WP posting). There is no minimum posting quota for now. Once you are set up, post when you would like. Though for now, we are going to set a maximum of three posts per week. Both the minimums and maximums could change down the road. You can format your post as you see fit, there will be little to no editorial over site for now, though we will reserve the right to make some edits as well as suggestions. We do recommend that you make use of the featured image, though, and below are some links to articles that can serve as guides for formatting. Also, READ THE SITE GUIDELINES very closely! All contributors WILL BE REQUIRED to adhere to these.
Welcome aboard, and let’s have a fun journey that hopefully proves to be rewarding as we build this new community.

Note that if you want to embed a video from YouTube or another video hosting site, you will need to get the administrator to add that to your post. Contact us at contact [at] scififrontiers [dot] com with the information and we will get that added.
If you have a book, film, web series, web comic, crowdfunding campaign, or other product or project relating to science fiction, fantasy, and/or horror, we welcome you to promote it here. All promotion at this time will be with short posts that represent and/or introduce the reader to what you are promoting (see links to examples below). You can request your promoter logon at this link. Include the username you would like to have, your contact email address, your name or company’s name (which will be associated with your posts), website URL if you have one, and a brief description of what you will be promoting. If you would like us to create the post, send the information based on the examples below to us in an email to contact [at] scififrontiers [dot] com.
Promoters who are creating their own posts will be limited to one promotion per week and each one must be different from the last (i.e., a new excerpt, a different piece of artwork, a different clip, etc.). Each post will go through a review process and MUST ADHERE TO SITE GUIDELINES. Note that regular contributors are allowed to promote products and projects if they are also posting original material on the site on a consistent basis. If you would like to join our contributors, you will be given additional leeway on promotion.
Currently, there will be no charge for promoting on the site. As we build our audience, we will start to charge a fee for promotion, though we will always try to keep this reasonable.
Example Promotion Posts:
A promotion for an eBook can be found at this link. This can also be used as a template for promoting a print book, comic or web comic, and/or similar products.
An article clip that promotes another blog can be found at this link.
A promotion for a Blu-ray can be found at this link.
A promotion for another site can be found at this link.
A post promoting a web series can be found at this link. This one actually counts as an article because it is pointing out a series that many people may have missed, but it can be used as a template for promoting a web series, film, podcast, crowdfunding campaign, etc. Note that if you want to embed a video from YouTube or another video hosting site, you will need to get the administrator to add that to your post. Contact us at contact [at] scififrontiers [dot] com with the information and we will get that added.

These guidelines are for ALL POSTS on Sci Fi Frontiers, whether they are from contributors or promoters. They also apply to the comments sections for posts and pages.
This site is dedicated to science fiction, fantasy, and horror. A place where people who love those genres can express their passions and/or promote related products and projects. Contributors are welcome to submit articles, fiction, films, artwork, web comics, and more. Promoters can promote their books, films, artwork, blogs, crowdfunding campaigns, web comics, and more. For now, contributors will be limited to three posts per week and promoters to one per week. As far as content, we are very open at this time as long as it relates to science fiction, fantasy, and/or horror and as long as it adheres to our guidelines.
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT porn, spam, hate speech, attacks against individuals or groups based on their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual preferences, beliefs, etc. Also, submit only original works. Any posts containing plagiarism of any kind will be removed immediately. The editors of Sci Fi Frontiers will make the determinations in these cases and ALL DECISIONS WILL BE FINAL.
As for politics, sci fi has long had its political side and that is okay here within reason. But we have no interest in people schilling their political views on this site. There are plenty of other places for that, and that is not what Sci Fi Frontiers is about. There is too much antagonism, divisiveness, and intolerance in politics today, we don’t need another site fueling those fires. Sci fi has always been about broadening out perspectives, and there has long been a strong movement in the genre dedicated to seeking out and promoting a brighter future. Even dystopian works can suggest positiveness on their converse sides. Let us not be the ones tearing apart our society, let us be the ones carrying the torch toward that brighter future.
Authors will retain full rights to their works and they can remove posts at any time. We may do compilations of posts from the site from time to time in eBook format, but we will contact you in advance and get your approval if we choose to do that (and you will share in any revenue generated from the eBook).
These guidelines are subject to change from time to time, so be sure to check back here for updates.
We are not set up for advertising at this time beyond what our promoters are submitting. But if you have an advertising campaign that you believe would work well on our site, or affiliate links appropriate to the sci fi audience, feel free to contact us at contact [at] scififrontiers [dot] com.
If you have additional questions and/or want to contact us for any reason, send an email to contact [at] scififrontiers [dot] com
